It all started with the 1966 movie "The Blue Max" from 20th Century Fox, starring George Peppard, James Mason,
and Ursula Andress. Who could forget the raiding squadron of the Red Baron...the screaming dog fights...the plummeting fiery
balloons...the trenches bristling with bayonets... those fantastic reproduction aircraft and uniforms...and that fantastic
mucial score. What a great movie! I was awed struck when I first saw it. Being a collector of militaria since I was always
interested in high Orders and medals. One of the most beautiful Orders in my opinion is the Pour Le Merite or as it`s known
by it`s nick name "The Blue Max". I know that I will probably never own a orginal one, so I have a nice quality reproduction
that I purchased a few years ago. Not only am I collector, but I am also a military re-enactor specializing in WWI (Marine
Corps), and WWII ( 9th Inf. Div. of the 39th Inf. Regt. Easy Company, with the California Historical Group). I have been doing
this for fifteen years, and I love it. So I hope you enjoy my site, and I look forward to serving you.
